For 25 years, Jess has studied yoga in many forms: Sivenanda and Integral Yoga; Baptiste Power Yoga; Yin Yoga; and primarily, Prana Vinyasa Flow with her root teacher, Shiva Rea. Jess finds great joy in empowering her students to be their own best teachers. Jess has been teaching full-time in DC for fifteen years, and is currently the director of DC's Prana Vinyasa 500-hour affiliate program, (next cycle will begin in 2018; see www.jessicalazar.com for details). Her most important job to date is that of mother to her two radiant teenage daughters. Jess currently lives in Chevy Chase with her girls, her husband, Adam, and their dog, Milo. Her decade in Israel blessed her with fluency in modern Hebrew, which she sometimes shares in class through music and poetry.
Jess's teaching style: Classes are offered using the embodied system that is Prana Vinyasa Flow: a fluid blend of the classical and the innovative in asana. Its liberated sequences are supported by intelligent structure and intentional waves of movement toward peak postures.
